These Terms and Conditions are between you and GrandMaster World, operating as “GrandMaster” (the “Platform”). By creating an account or using GrandMaster, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.
GrandMaster is a marketplace that connects students and parents (“Students”) with independent coaches, tutors, and mentors (“Mentors”) across a range of subjects and disciplines. We provide the tools to discover Mentors, book sessions, message, and leave reviews. Mentors are independent professionals, not employees, contractors, or agents of GrandMaster, and GrandMaster is not a party to the coaching or tutoring relationship formed between a Student and a Mentor.
You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Mentors are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profile, headline, bio, credentials, experience, and pricing. GrandMaster may display a “verified” badge based on information Mentors submit, but this does not constitute an independent background check, certification, or guarantee of a Mentor's qualifications. Students should exercise their own judgment when selecting a Mentor.
Session prices, formats, and availability are set by each Mentor. A booking is confirmed once payment is successfully processed. Cancellation and rescheduling are subject to the policy communicated by the Mentor for that session type. GrandMaster is not responsible for a Mentor's failure to attend a confirmed session, though we may assist with resolving disputes in good faith.
All payments made through the Platform — including session payments and Mentor+ subscription fees — are processed by Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”), a third-party payment processor. By making or receiving a payment through GrandMaster, you also agree to Stripe's own terms of service and privacy policy. GrandMaster does not store your full card details; Stripe handles that directly.
Stripe charges standard transaction processing fees on every payment, which vary by payment method (card, PayNow, or otherwise) and are deducted before funds reach GrandMaster or a Mentor's payout account. These fees are set by Stripe, not GrandMaster, and are outside our control. If a booking is refunded, the amount returned may not include the original Stripe processing fee, which is generally non-refundable.
Mentors are paid out through Stripe Connect once a session has taken place and the Student's payment has cleared. Payouts are subject to Stripe's own identity verification, banking, and payout timelines, which GrandMaster does not control.
By default, every Mentor account is enrolled in the free plan, which includes usage limits on active programmes and bookings. Mentors have the option to upgrade to the paid Mentor+ plan at any time to remove those limits for a recurring monthly fee. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change plan pricing or limits with reasonable notice posted on the Platform.
Students may leave a rating and written review after a completed session, and Mentors may publish posts and respond to comments. Content must be honest, relevant, and based on genuine experience. You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant GrandMaster a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute it on the Platform. We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law.
You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by posting false or misleading information, harassing other users, attempting to circumvent booking or payment flows, scraping or reverse-engineering the Platform, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. GrandMaster is a venue that connects Mentors and Students — it does not supervise, employ, train, or control either party, and does not guarantee the safety, conduct, qualifications, availability, or performance of any Mentor or Student, or the quality or outcome of any session.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrandMaster and GrandMaster World, along with their officers, employees, and agents, are not liable to any Mentor, Student, or other party for any claim, injury, loss, or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive — arising from or related to: (a) a Mentor's instruction, advice, conduct, or failure to attend or perform a session; (b) a Student's conduct, payment default, or use of a Mentor's guidance; (c) any personal injury, illness, death, or property damage sustained during or in connection with a session; (d) any dispute between a Mentor and a Student; or (e) content posted by any user. This applies regardless of the legal theory asserted, even if GrandMaster has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you. Where GrandMaster's liability cannot be fully disclaimed, it is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to GrandMaster in the 12 months before the claim, or $100.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GrandMaster World and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these terms, your interactions with another Mentor or Student, or content you submit.
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We'll update the “Last updated” date above whenever a change is made.
